ANTE @ 1 Utama Shopping Centre - An Honest Food Review

By susu - January 28, 2018

I have been to ANTE @ Publika once last year and I fell in love with their pork and pastas. They are one of the restaurant that serves the best pork steaks and pastas in town! During this visit to ANTE at 1 Utama, I found out that they had a new menu with many wonderful addition of dishes. The new menu is greatly designed, more fancy than the old one with many pictures of the food they serve. All the food looks so appealing! I actually came back wanting to order one of my favorite dish, which was Arrabiata Pasta but it is now eliminated from the new menu, so disappointed :(! The ambiance of this restaurant is really relaxing and romantic, complimented by the dim lighting and sleek interior. The customer service is good as well, the waiters are friendly and they know the menu well. In addition, the food came to the table within 15 minutes. Here are the 5 dishes we ordered that made our tummy very satisfied:

Chermoula Spiced Pork Shoulder (RM52)

This is the dish that all carnivorous would love to eat and never disappoints. This dish consist of 450g of pork shoulder, rubbed with fragrant Moroccan & Tunisian spices on top. The meat is tender and juicy, not the kind of meat that would make you chew it like it's a very hard chore. Each bite makes you crave for the next bite (yes, it's that delicious!). Along side with the meat, it is served with baked carrots, cucumber and onions. The pork shoulder is pretty huge, I recommend you to share it with someone if you have a small appetite.

Garlic Olio (RM26)

One of ANTE's best selling classic pasta, this dish is no ordinary olio pasta that you could find anywhere else. Composed of caramalised garlic, bacon, button mushrooms cooked in Shaoxing wine on al-dente linguine. I am never a fan of olio pastas but this dish has attracted my taste-buds! Highly recommended if you do not fancy creamy pastas.

ANTE Carbonara (RM30)

Another classic pasta that ANTE has served for many years. A very creamy pasta with bacon, mushroom, a dash of parmesan cheese and parsley on top. The downside of eating carbonara pasta is that you have to eat it immediately when it's served to you & it's very filling. After awhile, the cream may dry up and you'll find it difficult to chew it down.

Curry Char Siu (RM35)

This pasta dish is to die for! The taste is fantastic. Creamy and not-too-spicy, this is ANTE's signature pasta with Char Siu slices on linguine cooked in house-blended coconut curry paste & eggplant ragu. The char siu is not the typical char siu like the ones you get to eat in Petaling Street. The char siu is braised till tender complimented with some sweetness from the sauce, plus it's not grilled till it's burnt at the sides. Something different from the usual char siu, but it's really worth a try!

House Smoked Bacon with Creamy Polenta (RM25)

Hickory smoked, thick cut bacon with creamy polenta & corn tomato salsa. My favorite food all in one dish. I love my bacon to be a bit crispy but this bacon taste delicious without the crisp. Anyone who has tried polenta would think it's mashed potato because it taste like mashed potato, but polenta is actually a dish of boiled cornmeal that was historically made from other grains.

🔚🔚🔚🔚🔚
Had a very delighting meal and I would definitely want to come here to have my lunch or dinner again one day!
