Second stop: SHANGHAI (上海)
Last summer, I had a chance to spend 3 days and 2 nights in Shanghai. A classy, exotic, mystic, modern, picturesque, fascinating, prosperous, antique, and glamorous city. These are the words that I can describe what Shanghai is. With an abundance of history and culture, and also being a global financial center, Shanghai attracts many visitors each day. This bustling city is a joy to explore!

1. Stroll along The Bund is a must-do while you're on a tour in Shanghai.
The Bund is a waterfront are in Shanghai where you can oversee the Oriental Pearl Tower and all the tall office buildings. This place centers on a section of Zhongshan Road and is located next to Huangpu River. The Bund is always crowded with locals & tourists. If you love taking pictures, The Bund is absolutely stunning during the night. Take a stroll along The Bund and admire the beautiful skyscrapers.
Transportation by Metro ➤ take Line 2 and get off at East Nanjing Road.

Perfecto! Go on a boat tour or a cruise in the Huangpu river to get a spectacular view of the skyline. Or brace yourselves and jump into the crowd to take a nice picture of the skyline. |

2. Eat and shop around Yuyuan Bazaar!
Yuyuan Bazaar is right next to Yu Garden. It has a few narrow streets and lanes filled with small shops, tea houses and restaurants. This place looks like a very traditional old palace in Shanghai. Every angle of pictures you take will look like those beautiful scenes you saw on traditional Chinese movies.Wander around and you may find many local delicacies and souvenirs that are worthy to bring home to.

3. Relax and sink into the environment of the olden days in Yu Garden.
Yu Garden was believed to have been built more than 400 years ago and it's the only surviving garden from Ming Dynasty in Shanghai. Can you believe that?! And it is still so well kept till this very day even though it has been damaged and rebuilt several times . Amazing. The garden consists of many different areas decorated with dragon walls, sculpture, carvings and unique bridges. Check out the Exquisite Jade Rocks too!

Entrance fee ➤ 40 yuan (Apr–Jun; Sep–Nov), 30 yuan (Jul–Aug; Dec–Mar)
(Tips: If you're a student, show them your student ID at the ticket booth to get a student discount.)
4. Walk and shop till you drop along Nanjing Road.
Nanjing Road is a vibrant premiere shopping pedestrian street. You can find oodles of options of famous Chinese & Western clothing brands and restaurants along the street. There are many multi-level shopping malls, historic stores, specialty stores, theaters, world-class hotels, and attractions that can entertain you for the whole day. There are also many restaurants serving local food and drinks, your tummy will never get hungry here! Neon lights illuminates the street, attracting eyes on the brightly lit, modern buildings. Get your wallet ready heheh. (Tips: Get your sport shoes on because it will be a long walkkkkk)
5. Shanghai Natural History Museum (上海自然博物馆)
If you love science and you're interested in the history of life, dinosaurs, animals & sea creatures, you should definitely come and visit this museum! Consisting of 4 floors, it is one of the largest museums of natural sciences in China.The museum has a collection of 240,000 samples, including over 62,000 pieces of animal specimens, 135,000 plant specimens, 700 specimens of the Stone Age, and 1,700 specimens of minerals. Wanna know how life forms? How the universe works? How dinosaurs became extinct? Get all your questions about life answered here! They have so many interactive displays and private tours as well that will give you an awesome educational experience. Plan your trip well as it may take about 3-4 hours to admire and learn of all the exhibits. Kids would definitely love this place. It's definitely a value for money.

6. Tian Zi Fang ( 田子坊)
Tian Zi Fang is an artsy area that has transformed from a traditional residential alleys into a place where you can find bars, cafes, crafts stores, trendy art studios and little boutiques. Artists, hipsters, trendsetters and designers set up their businesses here that attracts many locals & tourists everyday, making it a very popular location to go to in Shanghai. Tian Zi Fang is largely hidden from neighboring streets as it is located in an enclosed area along Taikang Road. Make sure to walk around Taikang Road to find the entrance in to this hippy place!
